Who we are

FeeHawk ("we", "us", "our") operates the website feehawk.io. We provide educational content, interactive tools, and merchant statement audit services to help small businesses understand and reduce their payment processing costs.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Contact information: Name, email address, and optionally phone number when you submit a statement audit or sign up for our newsletter.
• Business information: Business name, type, and approximate monthly processing volume.
• Merchant statements: PDF or image files of your processing statements that you upload for audit.
• Optional context: Any notes you include about your processing frustrations or questions.

Information we do not collect

We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not collect browsing behavior, device fingerprints, or IP addresses for marketing purposes.

How we use your information

Statement audits

When you submit a statement for audit, we:

• Send your statement to our AI analysis service (Anthropic Claude) to extract fee data and identify savings opportunities.
• Generate a personalized savings report and deliver it to your email address.
• Extract anonymized, aggregated fee data (rate percentages, fee types, pricing models) to improve our benchmarks and tools. This data is stripped of all identifying information.

We do not retain from your statement:

• Business names or addresses
• Merchant account numbers or MIDs
• Individual transaction details
• Cardholder data of any kind

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send occasional updates about payment processing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Processor matching

If you opt in to be matched with a processor, we share your contact information and business details with a vetted payment processor so they can provide you with a custom quote. We only do this when you explicitly request it.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate FeeHawk:

• Anthropic (Claude API): Processes your uploaded statement to perform the fee analysis. Anthropic's API does not use submitted data for model training. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Resend: Delivers email reports and newsletter messages. See Resend's privacy policy.
• Netlify: Hosts our website and processes form submissions. See Netlify's privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

Data retention

• Statement files: Retained for up to 30 days after your audit is delivered, then permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time.
• Contact information: Retained as long as necessary to deliver your report and respond to follow-up questions. Newsletter subscribers are retained until they unsubscribe.
• Anonymized benchmark data: Retained indefinitely. This data contains no personal information and cannot be traced to any individual or business.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information, including immediate deletion of uploaded statements.
• Opt out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
• Data portability: Request your data in a portable format.

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email hello@feehawk.io.

European residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (which you provide when submitting a form) and our legitimate interest in delivering the services you requested. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Security

All data transmitted to and from FeeHawk is encrypted via HTTPS. We limit access to personal information to the services that need it to deliver your audit report. We do not store payment information or cardholder data.

Children's privacy

FeeHawk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.
