Using FeeHawk
FeeHawk ("we", "us", "our") provides educational content, interactive tools, and merchant statement audit services through this website. By using our site or services, you agree to these terms.
Our tools (savings calculator, fee decoder, chargeback calculator) are for informational purposes. They use industry benchmarks and general assumptions. They are not financial advice and should not be treated as a substitute for professional consultation specific to your business.
Statement audit services
When you submit a merchant processing statement for audit, you represent that you are authorized to share that document. We use the information in your statement solely to perform the analysis you requested and to deliver your savings report.
What we do with your statement data:
- We analyze your fees, rate structures, and charges to identify savings opportunities.
- We extract anonymized, aggregated fee data (rate percentages, fee types, pricing models) to improve our tools and benchmarks. This data is stripped of all identifying information: no business names, account numbers, contact details, or transaction-level data is retained.
- We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal information or statement to any third party.
What we do not keep:
- Business names and addresses from your statement
- Merchant account numbers or MIDs
- Individual transaction details
- Cardholder data of any kind
After your audit is delivered, we retain your statement file for up to 30 days in case you have follow-up questions. After that, it is permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing us.
How we use anonymized data
We use anonymized, aggregated data from audits to build and maintain the benchmarks that power our tools. For example, if we audit 50 restaurants, we might calculate that the average effective processing rate for restaurants is 3.2%. That aggregate number helps future users understand whether their rates are fair.
This data can never be traced back to any individual business. It contains no personal information, no account numbers, and no transaction details. It is statistical data only.
Contact information
When you submit an audit request or sign up for our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. We use this to deliver your report and send occasional updates about payment processing. We do not sell your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Intellectual property
All content on this site (articles, tools, calculators, guides) is owned by FeeHawk. You are welcome to reference and link to our content. Please do not reproduce it in full without permission.
Limitation of liability
Our tools and content are provided "as is." While we work to ensure accuracy, we make no guarantees about the completeness or applicability of any information to your specific situation. Processing fees vary by business type, volume, processor, and card mix. Your actual results may differ from our estimates and benchmarks.
FeeHawk is not liable for any decisions made based on our tools or content. For decisions that materially affect your business, we recommend consulting with a qualified payments professional or financial advisor.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
